You guys, this is soooo me:
Anthropologie "Half-past-six" trenchcoat by Taikonhu, $198. I tried it on at the store last night and it felt so lovely. Unfortunately, that price tag is sooooo not me.
I'm seriously considering a DIY fix. I'm thinking a box of dye and this Target trench might do the trick:
Whaddayathink?
Maybe - its gonna be pretty difficult to get it right though....The mac is lovely anyway!
ReplyDeleteaw, you can do it! looks like fun (if a bit messy...)
ReplyDeleteyeah, do it! If only because I want to know if it works so that I can attempt it
ReplyDeletedo it! it will look awesome
ReplyDeleteI would make sure to see what fabric the Isaac Mizrahi coat is. Different fibers take dye with better results such as cotton.
ReplyDeleteAlso I would look on eBay or a thrift store for an even CHEAPER coat to DIY dye. If the results suck, you aren't out as much as $50 for the Isaac trench.
Just a thought, but I would love to see you try it!
Just remember, that coat will probably be at least half off in about 3 months or so, but DO post a follow up if you dip dye!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great look.
ReplyDeleteOh man - go for it!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like fun and how awesome would it be to say that you did it yourself?
100% cotton is a fabric that takes dye well.
Let us know if you do dye the coat!
I'm right there with you! I blogged about that very same idea last week.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to see how this turns out. Good luck!
