Dip-Dye to Die For

You guys, this is soooo me:

Anthropologie "Half-past-six" trenchcoat by Taikonhu, $198. I tried it on at the store last night and it felt so lovely. Unfortunately, that price tag is sooooo not me.

I'm seriously considering a DIY fix. I'm thinking a box of dye and this Target trench might do the trick:

  4. I would make sure to see what fabric the Isaac Mizrahi coat is. Different fibers take dye with better results such as cotton.

Also I would look on eBay or a thrift store for an even CHEAPER coat to DIY dye. If the results suck, you aren't out as much as $50 for the Isaac trench.

Just a thought, but I would love to see you try it!

  5. Just remember, that coat will probably be at least half off in about 3 months or so, but DO post a follow up if you dip dye!

  6. Oh man - go for it!

It sounds like fun and how awesome would it be to say that you did it yourself?

100% cotton is a fabric that takes dye well.

Let us know if you do dye the coat!
