Pricy Produce: A $6K Asparagus Bag?

($5995, Judith Leiber)
Uhhh... this evening bag appears to be made of like 10,000 trillion mini Austrian crystals, all of which combine to form what I guess is a bouquet of roses but really truly appears to be a bunch of asparagus. Whatever it is, it's absolutely indicative of kind of horrendous taste not even money -- yet only those with way too much of it -- can buy. Also, don't they know that not even rich people are rich anymore?

  4. I dunno -- not that I would pay multiple K for one of these or, uh, even carry one -- but I think they could be pulled off in it's a "so bad, it's good" kind of way.

  5. Horriiiiiific! I see these and think old ladies, doilies, talcum powder, and fluffy cats. And of people who should consider sinking their spare $6K into, say, sustainable energy research or arts funding. Bleargh.

  7. Asparagus? As a bag?!? It`s killing me - if it were not so sad that some people have so much money that there`s actually a market for this...

  8. belated comment but I have to say - my mother is obsessed with pineapples on everything - she's generally pretty hip for a lady in her 50s, but she would JUMP on that second bag in a SECOND if it didn't cost $5500.
