Two Great (Bridal) Shoes, Two Very Different Prices

Recently I thought I found the absolute purrrrfect wedding shoe: The Stuart Weitzman "Oboe."

Wedge so you don't sink in the grass, extremely cute bow, dyeable to any color your heart or shoe man can dream up...just utterly best. Except for the price tag: $360. That could pay for, say, a second reception dress! Sadly, the Oboe was not a play I could make.

Turns out I'm gonna be sinking in the grass (hopefully not too much), because I did just go ahead and buy those oft-discussed Melissa Anglomania shoes with the red hearts (from Epaulet, of course). But if I was getting married inside? I'd totally go for these:

Nina Electra pump in ivory, $80. Again: $80. Someone, please, get married in these!

Then go on your island honeymoon and wear these wherever you go:

Steven "Bianna" sandal, $120. (Or purchase the identical knockoff at Alloy, as I will. Thanks to Cheap Chicas for the tip!)

In other shoe news, I think I'll get these huaraches for the summer:

Jeffrey Campbell "Gloria Tie" sandals, $84.

Bridal Binge, Shoe Edition, Vol. 2

As I look and look for the perfect weddin' shoe (see volume 1, wherein I bemoan the price of the perfect shoe), the shoe craving grows stronger.

Botkier "Elena" ruffle sandal, $445. This could've been a wedding contender (if not for the price): the perfect shade of teal! And yet maybe a little boxy...but LOVE that ruffle.

These are also possibly in my wedding colors, but possibly too wacky even for me:

Betseyville "Pabla" sandal, $114.95.

I'm sorta leaning toward agreeing with Tamar, who posted this one some time ago as a possible cute-ass wedding shoe:

Melissa Anglomania Plus Melissa Lady Dragon in Metallic White rubber slingback, $149. Nothing says "lifetime commitment" like technologically engineered thermoplastic, right?

I seem to have a hankering in my heart, when I look at wedding shoes, for red ones. But red isn't among my wedding colors. Maybe I can make it so? As an accent with teal and aqua? Say I can! Then I can get these, maybe:

Poetic Licence "Frills" sandal, $115.95. Check out the soles!

Or these:

Delman "Sema" sandal, $160.99 (and only in size 7).

Or these:

Nina "Camaren" knotted-toe slingback, $79.95.

Or these:

Luichiny "Duchess" sandal, $69.95, although I don't care for the mirrored heel.

Uh, you get the drift. And I haven't even *looked* at Zappos yet! Questions, advice, catty remarks?

Win a $500 JBAndMe.com Shopping Spree For Doing Almost NOTHING!

For serious -- just go to the new and improved JBAndMe.com -- they just relaunched their site -- and sign up for their newsletter, or create an account or buy something, like the CUTE stuff I've suggested below, and you'll automatically be entered into a drawing to win a $500 shopping spree. Which is probably much more feasible than any of us winning that $2500 Barneys deal.

My picks:
($189, 7 For All Mankind, JBAndMe.com)
A nice halfway point between trouser jeans and look-at-my-butt jeans.

($88, French Connection, JBAndMe.com)
Adoor-a-bell on its own or under a cardi.

($99, Nina, JBAndMe.com)
Oooh, with a little denim skirt and some dark opaque colored tights? Divinity!

So enter now because the contest (sweeps, technically), is only through today. HURRY, won't you?

Oh yeah, and you've got only one day left to enter to win the FashionBinge Napoleon Perdis Angel Baby kit, so GO THERE, DO DAT!

Shoes I Want to Get... And Shoes I Just Don't Get

As usual, a post with barely any cohesive thread, except for shoes that fall under the two dichotomous categories of stuff I like and don't like.

($136, F-Troupe, Creatures of Comfort)
Ughhhhh. More creature than comfort.

($115, Slow And Steady Wins the Race, Creatures of Comfort)
Riiiight. We get it. You're a ballet flat. And not a plastic bag.

($180, Angeli Inquieti, Zappos)
Less really is so much more.

($104, Pura Lopez, Amazon)
These studded heels, however, are almost perfect. If only they were a little taller.

($206, Modern Vintage, Zappos)
I need these bad I can taste it.

(Apprx $498 USD, Finsk, The Shop Floor Project)
By award-winning Finnish designer Julia Lundsten. Stunning, especially in cream. I like the space-agey-meets-earthy vibe too.

($95, Gabriella Rocha Studio, Zappos)
I need a pair of gold heels for my Weddings S/S '08 dress, and I like the cracked leather, but I don't know if I'm feeling the heeling.

($48, Nina, Lulu's)
Cute just 'cuz.

($195, Jeffrey Campbell, Urban Outfitters)
I've been dreaming of these laser-cut Jeffrey Campbell boots for weeks now, but something keeps holding me back... oh yeah... credit card debt. Wurst.

Oh yeah... hearkening all the way back to last Saturday's post, in which I highlighted my exciting recent purchase of Steve Madden Skiip laser-cut white Oxfords... I found these, which are similar, in case you wanted something a bit higher-end and more expensive:
($136, F-Troupe, Creatures of Comfort)
However, they're practically giving away the Steve Madden ones. Just sayin'!
