Community Collection Is Awesome And Will Eat Up All Of Your Money. Proceed With Caution

Oh dear. You need to know about Community Collection. And you're gonna HATE me, but really, you're gonna love me. I just found out about Community Collection, which is an online boutique that sells limited-edition selections of, oh, I don't know, PRETTY MUCH ALL OF MY FAVORITE BRANDS like Alexis Bittar, Tucker, Matthew Williamson, LNA, Adam, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rachel Roy, Steven Alan, Mackage, Current Elliott, Veda, Genetic Denim (LOVE Genetic Denim's skinny jeans), and Elizabeth and James AND 20% of each purchase goes directly to charity.

That (and an almost astonishing inability to control my impulses) is why I purchased these Current Elliott leopard-print Stiletto jeans (and would you just LOOK at them on Dina of Eye4Style), which I've have had on my hit list for a while. Knowing that $39.60 of my purchase went directly to Goods for Good (which helps people in impoverished parts of Africa gain access to educational resources and job skills) as well as the fact that my mental wheel of rationalization was spinning out of control was all I needed to shut it down on these jeans.

$198, Current Elliott, CommunityCollection.com

OH, and hi, I liked Community Collective on Facebook and got 30% off my purchase. See? Your money is gone.

Meet Rapper Kellee Maize & Win An Elizabeth & James Crab Ring!

Credit: Laura Petrilla
Ohai! Ever wanna join in a ménage à trois? We're you're about to find yourself in some three-way love because I've got a lot for you to process about an rapper named Kellee Maize, fashion site StyleSegment.com, and a crab ring by Elizabeth and James. MOM I can explain!

Kellee Maize is an indy rapper from Pittsburgh. Like Wiz Khalifa! Except she's a she. And she raps about things like the patriarchy and quantum physics, she does mad yoga, and she founded Nakturnal, a female-owned and operated branding and promotional agency that unites the art world and the corporate world to inspire women, promote independent artists and raise awareness for worthy causes. She also shares serious knowledge like "I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday" and "There is more to life than increasing its speed."

She's turned down a handful of record label deals and racked up shiztons of YouTube views on her own with her empowering lyrics, witty wordplay and willingness to have fun with fashion -- case in point, her huh-dorable video "Big Plans," where she plays five different characters (six, if you count herself) and changes clothes about twice that...

Which brings me StyleSegment.com, a site that connects fashion industry insiders to aspiring designers nationwide. They manage the wardrobe at many of Kellee Maize’s video shoots. Which brings me to...

This Elizabeth and James crab ring:

EEEE! He's got little RUBY eyes!

Kellee Maize and StyleSegment.com asked me if I'd like to collaborate on a giveaway. And since this summer is the fifth anniversary of FashionBinge, I said "Lemme think about that..KAY!"

Air Conditioning And These Textile Elizabeth & James Slouchy Collins Jeans Are The Only Things That Make Summer Tolerable

($225, Textile Elizabeth And James, Shopbop.com)
Just like you're either a hat person or you're not (I'm decidedly not-a-hat-person, by the way) -- I've come to realize that I'm just NOT a boyfriend jeans person. Maybe I just haven't found the right... boyfriend... but they always give me Humpty Dumpty Mom butt. Which is a hybrid term I made up for a dumpy-looking butt and mom jeans. Though that's pretty self-explanatory, I think.

ANYWAY, point is, I love a nice pair of slouchy, comfy jeans, especially in the summer. And these Textile Elizabeth & James Collins Jeans are like the apotheosis of comfy slouchy summer jeans. I love the slightly Huck Finn-ish nature of the roll-up cuffs and the front patch pockets -- front patch pockets are more summery than those double Popsicles!!! Plus, the forgiving drawstring means there's room for me AND that massive bag of Kettle Corn I straight CRUSHED during the Tonys.

Damn You, 'The Hills' Girls!

Like you, I am probably way too old to watch The Hills, and I'm certainly too old to relate to them. But I accept the fact that fashionwise, it's Sex and the City Lite. Unlike SATC, however, I would actually wear some of the casual-cute stuff the girls wear, and I can actually afford some of the stuff too. To be clear, I condone these pieces regardless of the fact/ despite that, not because, they've been worn by The Hills girls.

A few examples:
Damn you, Lauren Conrad! Here you are at the MTV Upfronts in a PEACOCK dress, WHEN YOU KNOW peacocks are my thing solely and exclusively!

($385, Elizabeth and James, Shopbop)
And it actually looks cuter on Lauren than this chick.

The red carpet dress Whitney Port wore to the season finale of The Hills is apparently one of her own "Eve & A" designs. There's something super glam and '80s, in like a Robert Palmer girl/ Dynasty-but-refined sort of way.

Speaking of Whitney's clothing line, here's a snap from the upcoming collection:
The 20-piece "Eve & A" collection launches this fall. And by the way, in case you were wondering, Whitney's dad is Jeff Port, who owns the apparel company Swarm, which manufactures a young men's line called Shades of Gray, so it looks like she already has some exposure to the biz.

Granted, Audrina's matriarchs never passed down to her the "no-white-bra-with-darks" rule of womanhood, nor the "thou shalt not matchy-match" rule, but I love the shoes:
($175, Kenneth Cole)
Appropriately enough, they're called "Hill Top."

($89, Kenneth Cole)
Another cute Audrina pick... again, one I like regardless of the fact that a Hills chick has toted it around to Le Deux. Actually, this is probably WAY not fance enough for Le Deux, but it is perfect for Urth Cafe, no?

($79, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Intermix)
Lauren likes this one, and it's cute, but not as cute as its striped sister:

($85, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Intermix)
Hee! Check out the snake around the anchor! And check out the designer: she's like just a few injections away from being the next Lisa Rinna.
