Outfit/ GPOY Post: LNA Cardigan, Forever 21 Ripped Jeans & Other Comfie Pieces For Pizza

Saturday night was one of the last pizza binges of 2011, so I had to bring it in the comfort competition. But I also felt like wearing something cute, and God forbid someone see me going H.A.M. on some carbs in something UNCUTE!

+ Cardigan: LNA Zip Pckt. It's jersey, has two oversized zipper pockets, and if I lost this thing I'd call the cops. That's how attached I am to this layering staple. Get it for $50(!!!!!!)

+ Ripped skinny jeans: Forever 21.

+ Silk tank: Forever 21.
+ Pour La Victorie studded Oxfords: I have these in olive/ beige too. Wear them at least once a week. #known
+ Bracelet: Ippolita Hard Gloss mother of pearl bangle (gift)
+ Lipstick: Shout out to that Cover Girl LipPerfection Siren 415 lipstick.
+ Pizza: Sam's Chops -- BEST pizza in all of New York. No competition. Just ask what once passed for my midriff.

Cute Shirt Alert: 7 For All Mankind/ Mika Ninagawa Photo-Print Flower Tee

While I'M SUPER particular about floral prints -- forecast: sometimes cute, with a high chance of OD'ing on '90s grunge-girl nostalgia -- I freaking LOVE a photo print. Especially 7 For All Mankind's small collection of Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa's floral photos. I LOVE the bold fuschias and quick flashes of blue.

It's a LITTLE tricky to style without veering into Totally Cheesy Territory (avoid the overly obvious black pants/ black blazer combo because then the shirt's just way too loud) but I'm thinking these light-rinse Gap jeans:
($69.50, Gap)

... And (stay with me here) some nice neutral sculptural shoes like:
($210, Pour La Victoire, Zappos.com)
I can't personally do wedges, but I LOVE these Pour La Victorie grey cut-out wedges.

Anyway, love the floral photo-print lily tee. It's basically the Bjork Post album cover of shirts.

Amazing Deal, Total Steal: Pour La Victoire Ballet Flats For $46!

I usually like bold, fun, slightly ridiculous shoes -- statement shoes (??) if you will? And I will. And I do. But there's something lovely about these understated, simple Pour La Victoire "Bijou" ballet flats. They're a nice, peaceful off-white with suede trim. I'd be feeling them with, say, some grey skinny jeans and a pumpkin-colored top, perhaps? Or maybe a turquoise one? ENDLESS possibilities.

($46, Pour La Victorie, Muito Fina)

Fall Footwear Trend: No Toe!

Is it going to be absolutely impossible this fall to find a pair of shoes that have actually managed to escape the drawing board with their toes intact? Peeptoes have moved from sandals to pumps to boots and Oxfords to like EVERY SHOE EVER, and I'm not all that sure I'm feeling that. Observe:

($175, Corso Como, Piperlime)
Why? I just don't get it! Is it that hard to go the extra 1.5 inches and cover the toe? You're not gonna be wearing these in 90 degree weather!

($405, Claudia Ciuti, Shopbop)
Why? What? NO!

($59, Steve Madden)
So tacky, Jackie!

($109, BCBGirls, Nordstrom)
These wold be totally otherwise cute(sy-ish), but again, WHY the no toe!?!?!?

($99, Nine West)
I actually like these, because they have a sort-of cool vintage look and don't just look like an otherwise regular pair of contemporary shoes that happened to get their toes sliced off. And I love the heels.

($110, Jeffrey Campbell, Shopintuition.com)
Like these for the same reason.

(Apprx $83, Topshop)
These, however? WAY too much going on here.

($96, Jeffrey Campbell, Nordstrom)
Of course, not as what's going on here. (What the FUCK IS going on here!?!?)

($249, Pour la Victoire, Nordstrom)
Oh my Lawd Gawd. They're not inexplicably open-toed, but there's still no excuse. Soooo New Jack Swing-era. Gah.

Remember: random peeptoe = just say NO!
