Rachel Antonoff For Bass Is Pretty Much The Only Thing Getting Me Out Of Bed At This Juncture

$129, Rachel Antonoff x Bass, Zappos.com
Hear that? That's the sound of emoji handclaps for Rachel Antonoff's (such a Rachel Antonoff Stan -- she's like the more Jewish Margot Tenenbaum) Bass clear Marbird Oxfords. The perfect way to do to subtle-quirk without turning up all like "I'm still really into 'Lolita,' you GUUIIIIIIISE" and desperately trying to convey the fact that you really firmly believe anything recorded after "Live Through This" is garbage and have people be like "we GET it, now be QUIET."

$159, Rachel Antonoff x Bass

Tiffany Blue, Dangerously Spiked Hellraiser Oxfords? Kay!

$165, Unif, Karmaloop.com
Everything about these turquoise Unif spiked Oxfords screams yes (and moderate pain) to me. As always, I will justify these with a resounding #YOLO.

Osborne's Cork Oxfords Are Making Me A Better Person

OMFG, dudes. Getting older officially SUCKS. I've been MIA from FashionBinge for a week because I for REAL haven't been able to SIT because I threw my back out, as so electrifyingly demonstrated by the stock image on the right. I can't even believe I'm old enough to be able to "throw my back out." I'll be checking the mail for my AARP, and I'll probably start eating dinner at 4:30pm.

Anyway, my PT (who's GREAT, by the way, and if you're in the New York Area and need someone, I can't recommend Manhattan Physical Therapy and Pain Center strongly enough) suggested I not wear heels. I told him I'm too vain for sneakers, but I'm gonna try to get by in flats for a while. It's a curse because I'm 5'1" and need all of the height I can get, but a blessing because HOW CUTE are these cork flats by Osborn:
$160, Osborn, BonaDrag.com

Again, CUTE OXFORDS made of CORK! For SPRING AND SUMMER! Which means they'll match EVERY FUCKING THING I OWN, included but not limited to neon stuff (of which I own a lot). Also, hi, 20% off Bona Drag through April 15, so ride that. I'll be over here in the corner with the ice pack, hashtag frowny face.

$98, J. Crew
PS -- While a cork clutch AND cork Oxfords are WAY too matchy-wack, just know that J. Crew's cork clutch exists. Cork. It's what's for dinner.

Anna Sui Weirds Up Hush Puppies

I like my coffee au lait, my men EXTREMELY normal and in no need of "fixing" whatsoever, and my shoes weird. So these Anna Sui x Hush Puppies are pretty much perfect.

A canvas Oxford with a striped wedge? WHO DOES THAT? Anna Sui does. Seriously, these make me wanna grab a top hat and cane and sing "Steppin' Out With My Baby."

Love a fringy moc for the weekend.

Look for Anna Sui's Hush Puppies collaboration in stores this April.

Outfit/ GPOY Post: LNA Cardigan, Forever 21 Ripped Jeans & Other Comfie Pieces For Pizza

Saturday night was one of the last pizza binges of 2011, so I had to bring it in the comfort competition. But I also felt like wearing something cute, and God forbid someone see me going H.A.M. on some carbs in something UNCUTE!

+ Cardigan: LNA Zip Pckt. It's jersey, has two oversized zipper pockets, and if I lost this thing I'd call the cops. That's how attached I am to this layering staple. Get it for $50(!!!!!!)

+ Ripped skinny jeans: Forever 21.

+ Silk tank: Forever 21.
+ Pour La Victorie studded Oxfords: I have these in olive/ beige too. Wear them at least once a week. #known
+ Bracelet: Ippolita Hard Gloss mother of pearl bangle (gift)
+ Lipstick: Shout out to that Cover Girl LipPerfection Siren 415 lipstick.
+ Pizza: Sam's Chops -- BEST pizza in all of New York. No competition. Just ask what once passed for my midriff.

You're Cordially Invited To The Wedding Of These Leopard-Print Oxfords

($250, Tibi.com)
Welcome to the marriage of two of my dearest loves: leopard print and menswear-inspired Oxford shoes. I see no reason why these two should not be bound together in holy matrimony. By the power vested in me by the state of New York and by the blogger platform, I now pronounce these leopard-print Oxfords FUCKING AMAZING.

Isabel Toledo's Payless High Ghillie Heels Are Something Alright

($39.99, Isabel Toledo, Payless.com)
What's black, and yellow, and crazy all over? Isabel Toledo's crazypants High Ghillie rugged cut-out Oxford Mary Janes with a yellow lug heel. They're bad because they're... well... nuts, they're good because they're Isabel Toledo and therefore fun, and thus a walking paradox.

BTW, the red ones are only available at Colette. But if I WERE to wear them -- and I'm not sure even I would (and that's saying a lot) I'd go with the yellow ones.

DISCUSS!

Eee! An Adorable Shoe Named After A Kitten!

What's cuter than this cut-out batik print Oxford Boxing Kitten/ Osborn collaboration? That's a Brooklyn designer mash-up BTW!

($180, Boxing Kitten)

Only this kitten wearing a hat:

(Via BeautyBloggingJunkie and Courtney John)

Boxing Kitten and Osborn's limited-edition "Cheeky" shoe (only 50 pairs were made, and each pair is numbered) is made from 100% recycled tires. The kitten is made of miracles.

And PS: Check out Boxing Kitten's Tam Tam batik sweetheart party dress, which I like to think was subconsciously inspired by and named after me:
($315, Atomic Kitten)

PPS: Also, what's not to love about Osborn's Mayan print boots:
($130, Osborn. shoposborndesign.com)
I could see myself living in these for about 14 months straight.

Jeffrey Campbell Wins Me Back With These Black And Brown Studded Saddle Shoes

These Jeffrey Campbell clunkers left a totally bad taste in mouth -- like when you accidentally bite into a really bad grape -- I HATE when that happens! But, do you stop eating grapes for good? No. You know there will be a better one later on in the bunch. Anyway, what I mean to say is that, I LOVE these Jeffrey Campbell Capone studded saddle shoes have made up for that bad grape. Know what I mean? A little?

Pointless Desires: Silver Oxfords

Ugh. So, Christian Louboutin or Yohji Yamamoto or someone fancy pants made some fancy shiny silver Oxfords or brouges or whatever. I'm not even coveting those, but I DO want these simpler silver jazz shoes:

($100, Labour Of Love, Farfetch.com)

($132, Candela, Bluefly.com)

($595, Christian Louboutin, Net-a-porter.com)
Thoughts on these Christian Louboutin glittery "Fred" jazz shoes? Ridiculous, but with the black-and-white outfit, they're cool in a Michael Jackson way. (Btw, news you can use: Christian Louboutin custommade the shoes the dancers wore in the Michael Jackson tribute at this year's VMAs.)

Creepers' Revenge: See by ChloƩ's Studded Boots Creep Their Way Into My Heart

I know that in the past I've sternly admonished the resurrection of creepers, but these See By Chloe off-white studded boots have taken up residence in my heart and WILL NOT move out. Ugh. Thankfully their $495-pricetag precludes our long-term relationship.

($495, See By Chloe, Net-a-Porter.com)

Didn't buy these, obvs, but I'd wear them in a HOT second.

Know what I did buy though, to ease my craving?
($70, Yesstyle.com)
I got the white studded ones, for fear the black ones looked a little too pilgrimy, and because I have more black shoes and boots than even an unreasonable shoe-obsessed person should possess. Anyway, I was feelin on the Hendrix-y-ness of the off-white ones, and hence clicked "buy." This was my first purchase from Yesstyle.com, and I saved a fiver with promo code "Twitter5." Also, I was pleased to discover that the shipping is just $9.99, which isn't bad considering they ship from Hong Kong and guarantee a three-day ship. Noice! Some places down the street charge almost that and it takes like two weeks. WTF, right? Anyway, I'll report back!

Perfect Fall Oxfords By Slow And Steady Wins The Race

($125, Slow And Steady Wins The Race, Oooga Booga Store)
No idea what I'd pair these sky-blue and cream Oxfords with -- maybe some textured grey tights and a grey schoolgirl or circle skirt -- but the mystery is part of the fun.

Studded, Structured, Sequined Shoes For Fall!

It's time for a... Fall shoe binge! Check these selects -- studded, structured heels and booties I'd buy if you were footing the bill.
($129, Steven By Steve Madden, Piperlime)
I know. I need more studded stuff like Kanye needs more exposure. But I can't resist these fun "Stardom" flats.

($24, Pink Footwear, Lulus)
Black oxfords = So simple, so cheap, so... something I will inevitably go back and buy in a week after much pointless deliberation, so I may as well just buy them now, right?

($585, Giuseppe Zanotti, Piperlime)
I need more '80s throwback heels like Fergie needs more bronzer, but I can't resist these black suede eyelet-covered Giuseppe Zanottis.

($110, BCBG Girls, Dillards)
Uh, blue suede, cone heel, fun '80s grommets? BCBGirls "Border" heels = YES.

($49.99, alice + olivia for Payless)
Don't you love how Payless can get low, like Flo Rida style? These alice + olivia "Robertson" peep-toe jeweled boots are sluttastic in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY. Next stop? Bootswitdafur!

($26.99, Payless)
Black lacquer heels at PAYLESS? Girl, you is NASTY!

($26.99, Payless)
Payless, girl, you are BAAAAAAAAD! And it feels GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Gladiators Gone Horribly Awry

($85, Type Z, Zappos.com)
Nope. Sorry. You either get to be an Oxford OR a gladiator BUT NOT both. Both is NOT an option. Pick ONE.

Frye On Bluefly!

Two quick Frye picks from Bluefly:
($246, Frye, Bluefly.com)
The "Vicki Campus" boots in grey at $152 less than on the Frye site.

($156, Frye, Bluefly.com)
The "Lisa" bootie -- so cute and significantly less than the ones on Zappos.

($94, Frye, Shopbop.com)
Not on Bluefly, but DEFINITELY on sale. These are the "Fiona" Oxfords I blogged about the other week, but they're even cheaper than the ones on Frye and than the $129 dark brown ones on Urban Outfitters.

The Motorcycle Boots Diaries: Also Doc Martens Are Back In!

Though I'm not sure I agree. I had my love affair with them -- specifically between the years of 1991 - 1996. I remember going to the Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and "visiting" the Doc Marten black lace-ups that'd soon become mine once I'd saved enough babysitting money to pay for half of the $80 price, which I thought was SOOOOOOOOO much for a pair of shoes. My mom was reluctant to help me pay for the other half of what she alternatingly referred to as "shitkickers," and "Nazi boots." I remember going to the counter and her saying "these better last til you're in college." I was in eigth grade then, and they definitely did. After years of moving with my dusty black Docs (they barely looked like I'd worn them after all those years), in plastic Rubbermaid bins, I finally got rid of them a year or so ago. It was really time. BUT, all sentimentality for the fashions of the early '90s aside, I'm not really that pleased to see should I see DOC MARTENS creeping back into my inbox and onto the pages of catalogs and magazines this fall.

The first time I saw them -- in mainstream fashion -- was a few months back in their Benneton iteration -- half Docs, half motorcycle boots, all patent leather:
I think they run a little under $200. They're fun but in bright red, they're a little too Ronald McAdoodly, you know?

($88, Urban Outfitters)
I liked Urban Outfitters' lace-up oxford version much better.

($110, Doc Martens, Delia's)
Whoop there they are! At DELIA'S. So you KNOW they're back.

($110, Doc Martens, Delia's)
My love of leopard-printed fashions is well documented. Even leopard-print shoes. (Or cheetah-print. Whatever. Tomato/ tomahto.) But not boots. Ack.

Anyway, so back to motorcycle/engineer boots -- they're HUGE for fall, and they're everywhere -- Michael Kors, Aldo, Steve Madden, Guess, Frye (of course), but the best ones I've seen -- and probably the most expensive ones are these:

($1143, Golden Goose, eLuxury)
Golden Goose is a line of luxury riding-inspired boots designed by Italian designers Francesca and Alessandro Gallo. They ain't cheap, but they sure are purdy. Each limited-edition pair of boots are marked with a serial number, and they come pre-distressed and destroyed. WANT!

+ More Golden Goose here.
