MiH's Stars Silk Blouse = Stars Forever

I have a thickfreakness weakness for star prints. Not all star prints -- no thank you to grotesque violations of Americana -- but a tastefully done star print. Plus, I LIVE for an all-occasion silk blouse. So I'm seeing stars (not afraid of redundant wordplay!) over MiH's silk star print blouse:

$275, MiH Jeans, us.Mih-Jeans.com

Unfortunately $275 is a bit out of my budget, but thankfully I have my Lazerade By Veda stars blouse from Urban Outfitters to enjoy regularly.

And what star-related post would be complete without Robyn's (my own personal Swedish Jesus) "Stars 4-Ever" and Paris Hilton's "Stars Are Blind" opus? I'll karaoke the shit out of this song, just so you know.

Reiss Has Really Good Stuff On Sale

WTF? Why don't I shop at Reiss more often? (It's a British high street that feels like if French Connection  went to a semester or two of grad school, and I mean that so lovingly because I love French Connection. Oh, and Reiss has a REALLY habit-forming handbag selection.) Being way better about shopping at Reiss and using fewer water bottles. There. Those are my perfectly reasonable resolutions for 2012. And now's a perfect time to start. I mean, LOOK at this excellent embellished dress on SUPER sale:

$288, Reiss
This dress vaaaaaaguely reminds me of that epic Alexander McQueen dress Drew Barrymore wore last year. Like, in a perfectly acceptable watered-down-for-my-affordability way.

The Taryn playsuit is sold out online -- BLAST AND DAMN! -- but it's worth looking for in the store. SO Florence Welch.

$51, Reiss
I've been on a serious sheer blouse binge lately, and Reiss' polka dot sheer blouse is PERFECT, because polka dots are WAY in, and I don't like paying more than $51 for anything, really. I mean, who does?
$120, Reiss
$120, Reiss

My name is Tamar, and I approve of these asymmetrical teal platform heels.

Creepers Are Creeping Back

$92, BC Footwear

Yes, way. Creepers -- those steadfast stalwarts of the flatform family -- are back. They've crept their way from the '70s, '80s and (un petit peu) '90s into the '00s, and, quite frankly, I see no problem with that. They're so bulky it's almost bonkers, and they're like Oxfords on steroids.

I'm partial to BC Footwear's Creepers. Wear them with a little babydoll dress for a variation on the Kurt-and-Courtney '90s look (everyone will expect you to wear Docs, and you'll throw them for a loop-de-loop). Or, do a menswear look with a pair of rolled-up baggy black pants -- hi, Zara's excellent trousers -- and a simple black and white striped shirt. OR, do yourself a favor and try a fitted, bright silk blouse (I'm sensing mustard, because fluorescent is too overwhelming in this case) and a blazer with a few gold chains and some big bangles for a Duckie-meets-New Jack Swing variation. Man, New Jack knew where it was at with color.

$69.99, J. Crew

$59.90, Zara

See? The one on the far right knew what was up. Those patent work boots were all wrong. All that kept these bros from greatness were four pairs of Creepers. Didn't they almost have it? (BTW, what's the guy on the far right doing these days? Prison time? I'll feel bad if he became a cancer researcher.)

Okay. Do the creep. And don't forget to smile...

Diane Von Furstenberg's Heart Pants Are Giving Me A Heart Attack

$298, Diane Von Furstenberg
Oh man oh man oh man. Oh boy. Oh dear. Oh shit. Diane Von Furstenberg's silk HEART-print "Naples" pants are so perfect that they're probably gonna give me a HEART attack.

Unsurprisingly, the "Melodie" heart top is almost totally sold out.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be praying to the gods of retails sale to KINDLY put those heart pants on sale. Have a heart, guys.

Tucker's Silky New Pieces Are Bringing Me To Tears

I just got the Tucker Spring 2012 lookbook, and you KNOW a line is doing something right when you want to rub your cheek up against a PDF because the pieces just look THAT soft.

If you can think of a natural or human-made fabric that feels better against your skin than silk does (chenille doesn't count because it usually looks gross), and if you can think of a brand that does silk better than Tucker does, please inform me of both at once. (Okay, Celine and Diane Von Furstenberg are pros, true). But no one does a louche luxe lifestyle like Tucker By Gaby Basora.

Polka dot contrasts with a chain-link belt? WHERE do I sign up?

Silky rust-colored pants and a green print pullover with heels? EXCELLENT silhouette.

All day, every day, silk dresses.

You can shop Tucker at Shopbop if you're so inclined.

By the way, I'm thisclose to buying this Tucker dress...

Feline Find: Topshop's Cat Blouse

($76, Topshop)
I know yesterday was Caturday, but Topshop's cat blouse still bears mentioning. It's totally the cat's meow. Or cat's pajamas. I mean, it's not pajamas. What I mean to say is that it would look perfect with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans or distressed grey skinnies and some stompy studded boots.

The Tucker Blouse Is An Injustice

This Tucker Hummingbird Nectar silk top is an injustice. WHY? Because it's perfect and because it's not mine. I should've gone into shoplifting after all.

($335, Tucker)

($276, Tucker, Piperlime.com)

Appropriate songs: Katy Perry, "Hummingbird Heartbeat"

The Smiths, "Shoplifters Of The World
