I Pledge Allegiance To Anthropologie's Shoe Selection

Stand up and salute Anthropologie's current shoe selection. I mean, please. Really.

$430, Chie Mahara, Anthropologie.com
These Chie Mahara bolted peep-toe booties are the Aladdin Sane of peep-toe booties and will obsessively consume my thoughts like p0rn0graphy. Not that I obsess over p0rn. I really don't. Just shoes. But no judgements if you're into p0rn. You do you. You've got flesh, I've got footwear.

$378, Judari, Anthropologie.com
Am I aware that these Judari floral wedge sneakers a more of a clusterfuck than Times Square? Well, yeah, but I like a farrago where personal style is concerned. The busier the better.

$438, Bettye Muller, Anthropologie.com
These are just BEGGING to be worn with a red silk blouse and black skinny jeans. Mama, I'm comin' home!
$158, Farylrobin, Anthropologie.com
These mint floral jute flatforms (AHHH! AGAIN! SO MANY THINGS AT ONCE!) are SO Alice In Wonderland goes to a suburban rave in 1994. So, in other words, they're everything I need in a shoe.

Anthropologie's Got A Camel Dress!

$228, Anthropologie
Camels are totally the new birds! Anthropologie MUST know that! Wait... PUT A CAMEL ON IT! Welp, it doesn't have quite the same ring as "put a bird on it," but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

Wait, actually, that's a dromedary, which only has one hump. "Put a dromedary on it: sounds way worse than "put a camel on it," so all the more reason we should make "put a camel on it" work.

Also while doing my "extensive research" into camels, I discovered this site that begs the million-dollar question  "camels vs. horses?" Totally charged. That's like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict of the animal kingdom, isn't it? Anyway, I love both camels and horses, and they should all be able to peacefully coexist if you ask me.

LUST LIST: Leifsdottir Electric Lights Print Dress

$268, Leifsdottir, Anthropologie.com
Leifsdottir's been a favorite little indie brand of mine for a minute. They're a modern, modest Scandinavian brand with an emphasis on sculpted suit pieces (cooler than it sounds, guys!) and dreamy, moody dresses. Leifsdottir recently moved exclusively to Anthropologie, which is where I discovered their Electric Lights dress.

Yo, Anthropologie Has Some Seriously Cute Stuff Right Now

Usually I don't conduct too many dealings within Anthropologie. And by "dealings," I mean I don't usually wander in, try on a bunch of stuff, hem and haw and then leave. Usually that's because I find the price points to induce no small amount of pants-shitting (though I don't know why because Anthropolgie's prices are barely different than half the shit at Bloomingdale's and I don't get the howling fantods over their prices). The other reason is that sometimes Anthropologie feels a little too art teacher/ garden party/ lady in her late '30s to me. SO many cheery brights and not enough bitchy blacks. However, I wandered into the Chelsea Market Anthropologie tonight, and DUDES, there were some seriously cute pieces.

$39.95, Odille, Anthropologie
Trust me, this orange polka dot top is approximately 40% cuter in person.

$298, Marion Vidal, Anthropologie.com
It's rare that I see a horse necklace I love as much as my Pade Vavre horse necklace, which I wear so much it might as well be a tattoo. But this Marion Vidal horse necklace is a close runner-up.

$498, Marion Vidal, Anthropologie.com

A double-headed horse necklace that looks TOTALLY deco? GAME RECOGNIZE GAME.

Let the Wild Rumpus Start!

Guys, it's a racoon-print blouse, all pretty and ruffled! And it's on sale!

Rebekah Maysles for Anthropologie "Raccoon Rumpus" blouse, $49.95.

Wear it with:

Anthropologie mixed-media marbles necklace, $19.95.

If I wasn't on spending lockdown, I'd totally get it. Grab it before it's gone!

Take Craft Classes At Anthropologie!

Lotsa folks, like the Budget Fashionista and Decor8, are reporting that soon you'll be able to take craft classes at select Anthropologie stores. Topics include reinvention workshops, where you can learn to get more mileage out of your existing wardrobes (AKA -- shopping your closet.) Past seminars have included hair accessories, reinventing plush toys (kitschy fun!), and refashioning and revamping last year's gloves, hats, and tops. Apparently you have to check with your local Anthropologie store for classes -- a quick sweep of the onlinetubes reveals little in the way of schedules.

Anyone signed up for one or taken one yet?

Anthropologie, I LOVE YOU

This needs very few words.

Moth "Knotty Pine" cardigan, only $39.95!! Down from $148. I'm in reverse sticker shock. And heaven, as I await its arrival on my doorstep. Or my cubicle desk, as the case may be.

I mean, did you SEE???

Love. Today, it's a cardigan.

Anthro's Floral Boots: Who Did This To You and How Quickly Can It Be Cured?

($498, Anthropologie)
What would otherwise be perfectly suitable tan leather boots instead appear to be have been infected by some kind of viral fungal attack of like massive footwear HPV or something, a la that poor Tree Man. And Anthro wants you to part with five Benjis for the privilege. Hideola Jenkins to the maximus.

Random Hump Night Binges

Y'all, first of all, my sincerest apolomagies for not Binging as hard or efficiently as I have in the past. I've been blogging my ass off for work, and while my heart remains in the Binge, work, well, pays the bills. Ah tries mah hardest to come up with some fun, semi-thoughtful and cohesive, subject-driven posts with lots of fun shit to look at/ buy/ dream about, but that's the Type A-er in me. At the risk of creating Bingeorexia and leaving you starving without much Binge at all, perhaps I should try being more Type B and just throw some shit up there? Your thoughts in the comments -- less frequent posts with more ZING or more frequent with less ZIP, if you will?

Okay, that said, here are three random Binge wants on this Hump Night (the night OF hump day, and not, to say, a night during which I'm humping, because I'm not, because I'm blogging. Ew. "Humping" is gross but funny!)

($99, Anthropolgie)
Oh, Anthro, you heartless, overpriced little bitch. Your sales are hardly even. Yet you keep drawing me back in.

($140, Nine West)
My ongoing love affair with grey heels continues. These are perfect summer shoes (with easy warm-to-cool seasonal conversion capabilities!) and almost have a Chie Mahara feel. But cheaper!

($175, Brian Bowie, Refinery29)
This messenger bag is supposed to be for guys (which fulfills one of my Type A goals of doing more men's stuff on the bolg), but I'd rock dat. Each bag is handmade by designer Bryan Bowie (best last name ever!!!! besides Rockwell) and thoughtfully comes with a detachable laptop case. Noice! They're supposed to be available at Bowie's site, Nostalgiecloth.com, but that site looks like it's slightly busted, so yell at Refinery29 and not me, k?

She Pushed You Out of Her Vagina

The least you can do is get your mom a nice prezzie for her special day, next Sunday. You know you buy yourself enough stuff. Some ideas:

Gap cropped cardigan, $39.50. I bought two of these yesterday, one in a fun geranium color and the other in versatile cream. Uh, for myself. I think I might get my mom these:

I don't know about yours, but my mom loves her some brooches. Here we have a cute Anthropologie spotted owl pin, $44.

Tam's pick:
($45, Delight.com)
It's a teaposy set. Duh. Not really sure how or why, but it looks mom-like in a cool, non-Anne Geddes way.

Of course, you could always *make* something special, too, but that's another post. For another blog. As you were!

Dip-Dye to Die For

You guys, this is soooo me:

Anthropologie "Half-past-six" trenchcoat by Taikonhu, $198. I tried it on at the store last night and it felt so lovely. Unfortunately, that price tag is sooooo not me.

I'm seriously considering a DIY fix. I'm thinking a box of dye and this Target trench might do the trick:

Whaddayathink?

And Now It's Time For A Mini Binge

And now, a round-up of great shoes, two hot dresses and two animals.

($175, J.Crew)
More proof that J.Crew is apparently trying not to suck anymore!

($398, Bettye Muller, Anthropologie)
Sorry for the wee pic -- Anthro <3s Flash.

($190, Malene Birger, KateBoutique.com)
Very smart, very sophisticated.

($212, Fornarina, Zappos)
Y'all, that's a SICK deal on some SICK boots.

($525, Sigerson Morrison, Bluebee.com)
Are these a little too Beyonce's mom? Regardless, they're hot.

($350, Azzedine Alaia, Riceandbeansvintage.com)
Obscenely hot.

($330, Alice & Trixie, Bellabtq.com)
Speaking of obscenely hot, it's obscenely hot in these here parts, and it's prime time for wearing gauzy, breezy dresses like so.

($93, She Bible, Doe-SF.com)
I really like the pilgrim-meets-party vibe of this dress.

($27, Dawn Ramerman, Orange Button)
I like this little elephant. But not as much as this little zombie likes turtles:
